I would have preferred something built into the headset. I have found finding the box can be difficult while gaming. Another flaw that many users may have is the difficulty with the volume/mute controls. I personally would have preferred a boom mic as retracting and extending the mic can be difficult. The mic simply rolls up into the left ear cup. This keeps it away from your face when you do not want it. SteelSeries has implemented their famous retractable mic. If your audio ports are far away, then you can plug in the extension and still be connected. If you sit right next to your computer and it has front audio ports, or your keyboard has a pass-through, you can use built in cable and not have to worry about cable clutter. In addition to that, SteelSeries has included a 2m long extension cable. The Siberia V2 comes with a built in 1m long, dual 3.5mm audio cable.

I did encounter some static, so make sure you have your voice actuation or push to talk properly set to ensure you do not transmit static. The Microphone quality is generally good. It is a gaming headset, and performs excellently in that role. SteelSeries however is not marketing this as an audiophile grade product. The sound quality is very good for gaming headsets, but definitely not audiophile grade. There is a USB unit available that has 7.1 surround sound. The unit is stereo and uses standard 3.5mm audio jacks. This will allow for better sound quality. These are larger than the typical 40mm drivers we see in other headsets. The Siberia V2 comes with large 50mm drivers. Included in the box is the unit, literature and stickers, and an audio extension cable. SteelSeries has also improved the comfort and sound quality on the headset. Instead it features a retractable one which I will talk about in more detail later on. The V2 improves on the original Siberia in many ways.It does not include clip on mic. Although it is not the newest, cheapest, or best sounding, the Siberia V2 is an excellent headset. The SteelSeries Siberia V2 is one of those headsets that you can forget you are wearing. SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Gaming Headset (White)ĬatalogNumberList - CatalogNumberListElement
